The two main events are, of course, the celebration of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics. The chance of either event of those living today are fairly unlikely to see again in their lifetime – and certainly not two major events like this in one year.

With the events spread from early June to September it is a golden opportunity to make our villages, towns and cities look brilliant to make everyone look back on 2012 as a year to remember.

At Kernock Park Plants we are already gearing up for the Jubilee and Olympic celebrations and have a number of Local Authorities enquiring and ordering Crowns and the official logos.

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee 2012

In 2012, Her Majesty the Queen will be celebrating her Diamond Jubilee - 60 years as Britain's Ruling Monarch.

The celebrations will centre around the first week in June (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th). The Government has announced its plans for a special four-day Jubilee weekend which will allow communities time to come together to celebrate and commemorate the events of the last 60 years.

The official emblem is the winning design following a national Blue Peter competition for children aged between 6 and 14. It was designed by 10-year-old Katherine Dewar, from Chester. If you prefer you could also have a simplified version of the logo.

This can be produced in a variety of colours, let us know when requesting your quote what layout and colours you prefer.

If you need a quote for a 3D InstaPlant Crown display then please be quick as they take a long time to produce.

If you have your own designs send them to instaplant@kernock.co.uk for a free no obligation quote.

Olympic & Paralympic Games 2012

Over 200 nations take part in the Olympic Games, and 150 take part in the Paralympic Games, making it the largest worldwide event and a truly global spectacle.

Around 70,000 volunteers help the 22,000 competitors and officials and a media pack of 30,000 cover the event broadcasting and reporting to every corner of the globe.

The Olympic Games in London open on Friday 27 July and run until 12 August, with the Paralympic Games opening a month later on Wednesday 29 August.

The Olympic celebrations has been somewhat held up by not knowing whether the registered logos can be used. LOCOG have appointed a Horticultural Projects Manager and launched 'The Look' giving guidance on Olympic colours to make a branded theme.

We, of course, can produce anything in our InstaPlant design that does not infringe the registered trademarks.

If any Local Authority or organisation wishes to use the trademarks in a planted display they are advised to contact us and we will put you in touch with the Horticultural Projects Manager at LOCOG. They will be happy to give you advice on what you are allowed to display.

Kernock Park Plants is doing their bit to help ease the budgets of Local Authorities by not increasing the cost of InstaPlant designs this year, in spite of the dramatic increases in transport and materials. In addition we are waiving the design fee for certain standard designs.
