InstaPlant wins at South West in Bloom Awards for Horticultural Excellence!

South Hams Council (Dartmouth) won the Abbiss Cup for the 'Best Horticultural Display in the South West' at this years South West in Bloom Awards hosted in Newquay, 15th September 2011.

The Abbiss Cup is presented every year at the South West in Bloom Awards for Horticultural Excellence by a Municipal Authority. The presentation was made by guest presenter Toby Buckland to Rob Harkness of South Hams Council.

We were asked to produce an InstaPlant carpet bed (3m diameter circle) in hardy plants for South Hams Council in November 2010. The layout and quote was confirmed and then the design was drawn up in plants based on the image required. Once the design was approved the plans were printed and sent to the nursery to be planted up in tiles.

The display was grown on under glass and given a final trim before being delivered to Dartmouth. The display was installed by the parks team at Dartmouth by sliding the tiles out of the plastic tray onto the prepared bed, the carpet bed was installed in under 4 hours. Finishing touches such as the gravel, the rope and information board were added to complete the display.

The plants in the carpet bed are hardy and should survive the winter frosts and the display may last 3 years if well maintained.

SALTEX 2010 IOG Gold Award Winners - Voted the Best Stand (under 100m2) at the show!

The SALTEX 2010 show was a great success, our stand looked great, 'Wallace & Gromit' was photographed over a 1000 times! We were presented with the IOG 'Gold' award at the exhibitor award event for the best stand (under 100m2) at the show.
